Biomek® Cell Workstation - Cell Culture fully automated

Biomek® Cell Workstation
An essential prerequisite in high throughput and high content screening , stem cell research, cell therapy, tissue engineering, and production of biopharmaceuticals is the permanent culturing and production of cells. Cell based assays require cells in constant quality to reduce inter-assay variability. Production cell lines need to be optimized and constantly monitored for consistent quality of their products.
Maintaining living cells in constant culture and managing multiple cell lines with different requirements in parallel is not an easy task. Cell culture is a complex process that consists of task such as cell seeding, growing, harvesting, counting, and passaging. Processes may run for weeks or months and thus are demanding specifically in terms of maintaining sterility and tracking all relevant information.
Integrated Biomek® Workstations for research and production have been developed to specifically address automation of cell culture media optimization, hybridoma selection, production cell line optimization, and fully automated monoclonal antibody production.

Sophisticated Software Solutions
Biomek Process Management software to organize parallel and interleaved processes.
This component includes a calendar view to simplify managing laboratory resources.
Graphic and intuitive process editor that enables users to define even complex processes consisting of multiple tasks.
Intuitive graphic editor to define and schedule individual tasks in detail. Integrated data tracking   provides feedback on feasibility of these tasks while editing them.
Unique integrated data management, i.e. tracking, logging, and reporting. Any information about any sample, well, or plate is registered in a database and available for later use. Labware reports provide information about every single plate in the system at any point of time.
Data management system includes SQL viewer for easy LIMS connectivity.

Fully integrated screening system with HTFC
(High Throughput Flow Cytometry)
as novel HCS readout thechnology

Beckman Coulter is interfacing its CyAn flow cytometer with IntelliCyt's HyperCyt system, a configuration that offers researchers the fastest flow cytometric cell analysis available. The CyAn provides acquisition rates of up to 70,000 events per second, which, combined with the continuous, rapid sampling capabilities offered by the HyperCyt autosampler and HyperView™ Data Analysis Software, enables 384-well plates to be processed in as little as 10 minutes.
The instrument package will allow high-speed processing to be used in many cell-surface and intracellular flow cytometry applications.
The combination of these products will provide the capability for flow cytometry to reach an entirely new market segment where high throughput is essential. When the multi-dimensional cellular analysis capabilities of flow cytometry combine with high-throughput processing, more information can be generated from a single analysis than can be obtained with the drug discovery tools that are currently available.
With this relationship, HyperCyt will continue to advance and expand the use of flow cytometers to address the screening needs of modern drug discovery and life science research.

Biomek® ACP - Antibody Cocktail Preparation Workstation

Expedite and Simplify Multi-Color Flow Cytometry Analysis Preparation
Conducting multi-color immunophenotypic analysis manually using flow cytometry requires preparing multiple panels of antibody staining cocktails with multiple antibodies. With so many reagents and pipetting steps, manual preparation is prone to human error, which may not be detected until the results are analyzed. If this occurs, it may require repeating the whole staining process for the entire batch of samples.
Beckman Coulter's innovation and experience in automation and cellular analysis allow us to provide an automated antibody cocktail preparation workstation that streamlines multi-color flow cytometry analysis and helps avoid costly human errors.
Increase throughput and improve antibody straining cocktail quality with our automated solutions
